AI use disclosure

Principle

We treat AI as a research and drafting assistant. We do not treat AI as an author. Every AI-assisted piece of editorial content passes through a credentialed human author and a credentialed human medical reviewer before publication.

Where AI helps us

• Research and summarization. We use Claude (Anthropic) and Gemini (Google) to summarize long sources and surface relevant primary research. The author still reads the primary sources before citing them.
• Drafting assistance. AI helps with structural drafting (turning an outline into prose). The author rewrites the draft for clinical accuracy, voice, and citation discipline.
• Editing and proofreading. AI assists with grammar, clarity, and consistency.
• Event metadata extraction. Organizer self-serve submissions paste a URL; AI extracts structured event metadata (date, location, organizer, etc.) for the organizer to review and correct before submission.
• Transcript cleanup. Voice-to-Research and Spark-to-Evidence audio captures are transcribed and cleaned with AI. The nurse reviews the transcript before anything is published.

What AI never does alone

• Authors clinical content. Every clinical article has a named human author and reviewer (see the AuthorByline and Reviewed-by blocks at the top of every article).
• Fabricates citations. Every citation resolves to a real, verifiable primary source. We have a citation-discipline policy in our editorial policy.
• Decides what is published. Publication decisions are made by editors, not pipelines.
• Handles personal health information. We explicitly forbid PHI capture in Spark recordings; users acknowledge a privacy gate before recording. See our DPDP notice and the PHI compliance guide in our editorial docs.

AI engines that we allow to crawl us

We allow major AI training crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended) so AI engines can cite our content when nurses ask them clinical or career questions. See our robots.txt.
